Just as we witnessed Shaykh weeping profusely by the Multazam,
similarly he would cry abundantly in the Masjid Nabawī. As one enters
from the old Gate of Jibrīl , there is a blessed window slightly
towards the left hand side near the roof covering, directly in line with the
blessed body and blessed feet of the Prophet . We used to place a prayer mat directly in front of this window for Shaykh at a special place
designated for him. During that time, all the guards and police that were
there knew that Shaykh was a great spiritual scholar and knew that
his students would come and place a cloth or a prayer mat for him – and
they never forbade it. We would seat Shaykh there, and he would sit
and cry for hours. May Allāh also grant us the ability to cry like our elders
and the Prophet . May Allāh also soften our hearts which have
become hard and solid like stones and rocks, and may Allāh eradicate this
hardness.
