Anas , was still a young child, although one of understanding, at the
time of the Noble Prophet’s passing away. Even after the Prophet’s
demise, he would continue to visit the blessed homes of the pure
wives of the Noble Prophet to assist them in any way. He relates,
“As I once approached the home of the Mother of the Believers, ʿĀ’isha
, I heard her weeping continuously and saying whilst remembering
the Prophet :
یا من لم یلبس الحریر، یا من لم ینم علی فراش رفیع ، یا من لم یشبع من خبز الشعیر، یا من لم ینم الیل
من خوف السعیر
O the one who never wore silk or slept on an exquisite bed! O the one
who never ate bread made of barley to his fill or slept in the night due
to the fear of Hellfire!
The Leader of Both Worlds, the Prophet’s past, present and
future sins were forgiven by Allāh as exemplified in the following verses:
انا فتحنا لک فتحا مبینا لیغفر لک الله ما تقدم من ذنبک وما تاخر
Surely, We have granted you an open victory, so that Allāh may forgive
you of your previous and subsequent faults [48:1-2]
However, our respected Mother of the Believers ʿĀ’isha is stating,
“O my beloved! You wept all night long and did not sleep due to the fear of
Hellfire.” May Allāh grant us safety and security, and may He remove our
negligence towards the Hereafter. May we become like the Noble Prophet
and his servants who prepare and cry for the Afterlife. There, the
decision will be either الی الجنة او الی النار – to the Garden, or to the Hellfire.
Whether we are to go to Paradise or to Hellfire will be decided. May Allāh
grant us the ability constantly to cry (for the Hereafter). So (as alluded
to earlier), ʿĀ’isha would always weep remembering the Prophet
and likewise Fāṭima used to weep for him too.
“
“The best among you (Muslims) are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.”
The Prophet (peace be upon him)
